Today was Bird's birthday, but given my aversion to buying things for the sake of buying things, I ended up not buying anything. Rather than giving gifts, we've been known to give each other experiences instead. A couple of times in the past, we'd gone to New York for the weekend, but this time, due to my indecisiveness, no plans were (and still have not been) made. As I ponder, my mind can't help but wander to that other side of the world. If only we lived just a train ride away.
